You're right, putting Beshear on the ticket would not deliver the state of Kentucky to the Democrats.

However, in 2024, voter turn out will decide the presidential election the same way it did in 2020. And that's where Beshear makes a difference.

Nationwide, registered Democrats outnumber Republicans. Unfortunately, Democrats have a notorious reputation for NOT voting. In 2020, national Democrat voter turn-out won the election.

In Kentucky, 46.25 percent of voters are registered Republicans, while 43.36 percent are registered Democrats. Nonetheless, Beshear proved he could get enough voters to the polls to win the governors mansion twice in a row.

That's the reason, I think putting Beshear on the ticket, would increase Democrat voter turnout in the mid-western, southern and other supposedly safe Republican states as well.

To understand quiet power, you have to see Beshear work. He delivers straight forward, no nonsense policy talk, then quickly moves on and spends his time talking about genuine, heart felt human concerns. By the time Beshear is done talking, people are your priority too, and the policy you hate (like vetoing an abortion ban and opposing publicly funded private school vouchers) has faded in comparison. Its seriously artful stuff.

What Hillbilly Elegy Kentuckian, JD Vance, is going to do for the Republican Party, Beshear could do for the Democratic Party.

Unfortunately, the Democratic Party has no frigging idea how to turn-out the vote outside of cities and suburbs. As a result, we will get stuck with a VP choice that keeps Democrat voters home and hands the election to Donald Trump.
