Yes, I agree, but only to a point, cause… Physics. For every action, there is an opposing reaction of equal force. Platforms like Medium are the opposing force. These sites, densely occupied by citizen journalists are working against corporate media (not for it).

Like big corporate newspapers, we’ve got a news section, an op-ed section, photojournalists, a home and design section, fashion and style section, arts and entertainment section, sports section, economic and finance section, Miss Manners and Dear Abby section, a corner couch for psychology, a food section, travel section, technology section, business section, and self-improvement, health, parenting and Letters to the Editor sections. We’ve got history, education and science sections. We’ve got special editions, hot news alerts and comics. We’ve got conservatives, liberals, libertarians, identitarians, independents, confoundatarians, foreigners, apathetics, indifferencers, I don’t give a hooters, and aliens (aka bots). We’ve got intellectuals, academics, preachers, workers, bosses, veterans, scientists, and specialists galore. We’ve got bullies, liars, and creeps too.

If Medium gets too bossy, they get pushed right back. They manage the place, but they cannot afford to pay all the people who are doing all the work – and anyone who can afford to pay, won’t.
