Watching a former prosecutor work has proved instructive. I’ve seen Harris’ unscripted enough times to know that she can speak a mile a minute. Even her cooking videos will tell you that.

However, in a professional setting where her words really, really matter, Harris does NOT think out loud. Harris gives herself time to think, by controlling the speed with which she speaks, or engages in conversation. At the same time, she forces others to listen to her.

The first time Baier made the mistake of interrupting Harris, he lost control of the interview, and he never regained it. Harris knew exactly what she was doing, and she kept him squirming. Each time Baier interrupted, Harris talked even slower. Baier looked like a caged animal, darting, twitching and squirming, off balance and unsure of himself. With his hands flailing at the ends of his arms, Bair signaled stop, but Harris just kept talking, slowly and deliberately making her points.

And I was thinking, ummm, the leaders of every country on earth are watching this interview and thinking the same thing I am; Harris is no Donald Trump. Play chess with Harris, and she will be playing her last move, before she moves her first piece.

In domestic and global politics, I want a master, not an insecure novice or a phony actor.

Put Kamala Harris in the White House, and she will surround herself with people who have mastered every position they hold. After four years inside the halls of presidential power, Harris knows exactly who are the masters, and who are the phonies.

Thanks to Brett Baier, Harris just scared the poop out of a lot of global leaders. I think we can count on Putin, Orban, Netanyahu et al, stepping up their efforts to influence this election in favour of Trump.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
