Three generations of children, mine included, have grown up in a country without a flag.

Thirty years ago, conservatives took possession of the American Flag and there was no going back. Did I surrender my country’s flag? Yes, I did. I surrendered the flag to Americans; but I did not surrender myself.

The first time, I saw Conservatives flying the American flag alongside the Confederate flag I felt threatened. Today, the sight of the American Flag flying reminds me, our country is in danger - from within.

I am an American and do not pledge allegiance to a flag that represents conservatives alone.
