This was never about Covid-19. It was, and is and always will be about the horrific, air-borne, highly contagious, bleeding from every hole, pain in every nerve, delirium inducing, deadly virus that will, someday, come out of the wilds.

We all had one chance, the same chance, as equal as equal gets chance to test our government's readiness to protect their people. And now the whole world knows who will and will not survive.

There is no second chance. Societies evolve too slowly. Whoever led their nation in 2019 set the stage for the next 100 years.

When that as yet unknown virus does arrive, China will survive it - the west will not.
