This is nothing new. In 1969, my uncle made detective in the Pasadena, California police department. A few months later, he started going to air conditioning school at night. He finished his classes, quit the force and moved to another state. He had NO choice. He’d reported his fellow officers (drug and homicide detectives) and made himself a target. He moved to protect his wife and children — from cops.
After Uncle Richard left, the cops left our family alone — literally “alone”. None of us stayed in Pasadena.
