Thanks for the giggles - California fruitcakery indeed. :)

I grew up in the California mountains and lived there the vast majority of my life. With the exception of tornados, I could have written everything you did, about the stuff I've lived through. Two years after I moved to Kentucky, a tornado ripped through our land. Two years later, we are still clearing trees near our homes.

City people are dumber than hammered owl sh-t. They've never heard of an aquifer, septic system, surface water, flood plain, or a wash. They think a water basin, is a plastic tub that people use in their sinks. They think an ephemeral lake will be there forever. They bulldoze trails and roads and wonder why mud slides downhill into their living rooms. They think a cave entrance means a cave belongs to them. They damn up a pond and wonder why the farmer a mile away is pissed off. They think private property is open to the public and ride their ATVs damaging natural runoff so badly, a bad rain drowns their frigging neighbors. As far as I'm concerned, city people are dangerous, and I don't want them anywhere near me.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
