Part of me rejects this notion and another part of me says' hold on...

I was just a kid when I heard the phrase, the law of averages. What's that I asked and my uncle explained the math. Halloween was coming and superstitions were popping up again. Hmm, if Friday the 13th and black cats are bad luck, the law of averages says, they must be good luck for some people. Right then and there I decided I would be the good luck person. And it worked - for decades on end.

In spite of all my misgivings, I can't deny all the givings, that the law of averages sent my way.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
