One of my top complaints. At work, we receive as many as 11 telemarketing calls a day. We paid to have these calls blocked, but the telemarketers keep outfoxing the blocks, so we cancelled the service. Polite no, doesn't work - these people are tenacious.

Every one of these calls costs my boss - who pays our salaries, and the phone bills that enable them to call us.

If I were a techie, I'd figure out how to make an app, then fight for laws to make it legal, to push a code on the phone and the telemarketer would be billed a quarter, plus all call charges. The quarter would be divided between the app company and the company or person who was called - 12.5 cents each. At a reduced rate of 5 calls per day, we would each get $162.50 for our trouble every year.

Now multiply that by say 100,000 equally angry business owners, and the app company is looking at a $16-Million dollars +++ in annual revenue.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
