Of course, you are right. That was the point. People, you and I included, have a tendency to assume on other people’s intentions and motivations. If or when, we decide we know someone else’s mind, we feel free to act on our assumptions. To discover later, that our assumptions were wrong, the things we’ve said and done can be inexcusable. Since I think it best not to assume at all, I offered a variety of different assumptions to the writer.
