No wonder you were scared. I know the area well. I used to ride (horses) through Griffith Park and my great-Aunts lived on Panorama Drive, in Los Feliz. Its rugged terrain up there. When people started putting in pools near my aunts, they lost so much water pressure, they could not even flush the toilet.
The city put in bigger pumps, but pumping water uphill depends on keeping water tanks and lines full at the bottom of the mountains.
Last week, I got back to work on an article about the Resnicks that I'd started a year ago, and seeing you mention them got me motivated.
