Mr. McFadden, based on your entries here on Medium, you’ve been bearing witness for quite a long time. That something inside of you made you stop and feel everything you’ve experienced seems necessary (right and good). For if you don’t stop and feel, you might start running from your own feelings. That you are feeling the intermingling of your own personal losses at the same time, is what happens when we begin to apply the lessons our feelings came to teach us.

Living our lives running away from our feelings, is to miss everything and everyone we pass along the way. No one can outrun their feelings, for they travel inside us. The only way to cope with feelings is to feel them.

Your readers carry the feelings you brought to us, so you are not alone. We are feeling too and most of us are not running.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
