Mr. Kelly, I say this sincerely: With all due respect, this article reeks of Christian Nationalism propaganda, straight out of the right-wing brainwashing machine. And that is not like you at all.

For the sake of clarity and brevity, I will put this simply. You have missed the key historical fact that Zionism is rooted in Christianity (NOT Judaism). Without an understanding of the Christian Zionist Movement, you cannot understand what is happening in America’s right-wing movement (aka MAGA), let alone Israel, Gaza or the West Bank.

Christian Zionists are hell bent on hastening Jews return to Palestine in order to fulfill their belief in the second coming of Christ. Once “their” Christ returns and fulfills his promise to kill the Jews, Christ’s true believers will inherit the earth and everything on it. Today, Christian Zionism is a global movement numbering some 100-million people who work towards the return of Jews to Israel, where they can be killed in the second coming (aka the End Times).

Obviously, Jews are NOT Christian Zionists. For a Jew to be a Christian Zionist, would be suicidal. When "their" Christ returns, 4,000 Jews who converted to Christianity will be saved (these converted Jews call themselves "Completed Jews" and "Messianic Jews"). Israelis are so strongly opposed to Christian Zionist's setting up shop in Israel for purposes of conversion, it is possible evangelism may become illegal in Israel.

America’s Christian Zionists are driving the Republican Party’s support of Israel. Christian Zionists have aligned themselves with Netanyahu and his far-right party (Likud) in Israel. In both the U.S. and Israel, Christian Zionists have also aligned themselves with Orthodox Jews and the Israeli settler movement. But make no mistake about it; if not for the power of Christian Zionists in America's far-right-wing political circles, Israelis would have thrown Netanyahu and his Settlement Movement out of power a long time ago.

What you wrongly refer to as liberal Jews, are in fact, Jews who have chosen democracy over autocracy and theocracy. Demographics have always made a “Jewish Democracy” impossible in Israel (where Arabs, Christians, Palestinian and other populations already did, or were one generation away from, outnumbering Jews).

Again, with all due respect, I encourage you to learn about Christian Zionism, before you attribute their beliefs to Jews or Israelis again.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
