Mr. Kass, I also wrote an article on human zoos. My interest was rooted in the late 1970s when a man I worked for invited me to use his library. Herb had a huge collection of books, some more than a hundred years old, on our specialized area of practice (exhibition design and the design of public spaces).

Reading those books, studying the pictures, and all the hours Herb and I spent discussing them, instilled a moral and philosophical foundation for my own work. Since I like to think my work has made a difference, it pains me something awful to see designers utilizing their skills to spread propaganda. Unfortunately, I see it more and more often. No matter how subtle it may be, the moral flaws stick out like sore thumbs.

Anyways, good article sir.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
