Mr. Alyeska, I get political calculations like that are necessary. However, I am convinced that grassroots organizers, like Stacy Abrams, are far more important in the long run.

Given the long, hard battle in front of us, we cannot afford to lose people like Abrams. Her people skills, political skills, networks, and experience are irreplaceable. Getting out the vote, is grueling, demanding work done by volunteers, who usually work for free. People invest hundreds, even thousands of hours of their time without compensation for everything they give up, in order, to do this work.

Without people like Abrams, Georgia would still be a Republican “puppet” state. The people of Georgia are gaining control of their state and I think that is a big deal. If Georgia succeeds, my political calculations are, that other “puppet” states, including mine (Kentucky) might follow suit.

Somehow, we need to stop taking grassroots organizers for granted, and start elevating them in our estimation and our shows of support – especially our financial donations. Right now, Abrams has every reason to walk away. I think we should lighten her load, and give her a reason to stay. https://fairfight.com/ is a good place to start.
