Keep in mind, that critical race theory is a sub-section of critical theory. As I said, critical theory has many different areas of focus and race is just one. Its like history. Some historians focus on America, others focus on China, some focus on economics, other focus on cities, but they all call themselves historians.
Instead of critical race theory, I recommend you read, Life and Death of Great American Cities, by Jane Jacobs. Jacobs demonstrates critical theory at work in her readable, and understandable exploration of American cities.
