I've been building garden boxes and listening to the "Ultra" podcast - about right wing extremist groups in America during the 1930s and 1940s. I knew there were Nazi sympathizers in America, but I had no idea that U.S. Congressmen and Senators were using American tax dollars to mail Nazi propaganda to American homes. And reading speeches written by Nazis on the floor of Congress, and on the radio.
Oddly enough, learning this slice of history is giving me a little hope, that we can, indeed, overcome the current fascist craze spreading throughout our country. At least, I know it is possible to overcome it.
