It’s impossible for people to “get over anything” without a guarantee that it will NOT happen again. That guarantee will be made possible when we clean racism out of our systems and institutions.

You can’t wash sheets in coffee and expect them to come out clean. Likewise, our systems are dark and muddied because they were steeped in racism. It’s time to start scrubbing and keep scrubbing until the stains are out.

At long last, the scrubbing has begun. Despite the mess, the internet enabled everyday people to bypass the established media and talk directly to each other. Instead of “The Authorities,” citizens today, are educating each other. Every day, on sites like Medium, readers are telling writers, “Thank you, I never knew that before.” Even people who refuse to learn – are learning. .
