I'm into seriously boring stuff, but this presents some really interesting opportunities for strengthening local government.
Think of this like the economy. Local government (cities and towns) are the workers who do the work that make towns, cities, and communities work. Counties are the caretakers, the people who take care of parks, open space, forests, swampland, water, farmland, and recreational lands that feed workers and workers like to visit on vacation. States are like corporations that suck money out of cities and counties to pay CEO/governors and legislators who manage paperwork.
When Disney started EPCOT Center they were honestly trying to build the Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow. Their grand vision turned into another theme park, but maybe, just maybe, they were ahead of the times. Is this tomorrow? Has the time come to reinvigorate the original dream of a City of Tomorrow? I can't think of a better company to take on that task.
