I take your points, but this is 2024 - not 1980. Today, there are no more norms. Everything is up for grabs and we're living in a free for all, wild west where might makes right.

While some Americans are trying to establish some norms, its a hard battle. People are still enjoying unlimited freedom. Saying and doing whatever you please is intoxicating until... someone else's freedom sobers you up. It will be a long while before Americans are sober again. Until then the already sober will have to go it alone - cause if they don't there won't be anywhere safe. for the intoxicated to go when they sober up.
