I read, "I don't if the MAGA Republicans or the neo-liberals scare me more" - and I have to ask, did you mean liberals or neo-liberals?
Either way, I share your fears of both. Neo-liberalism is so much more insidious, and easily hidden, I am much more afraid of neo-liberals than I am of MAGA Republicans. Just to be clear, neo-liberalism is the conservative economic theory (aka trickle down economics) that replaced liberal economic theory during the Reagan years. The 2007 global economic crisis and housing market crash was the direct result of neo-liberal economic policy.
Unlike neo-liberals, MAGA Republicans are not insidious, they do not hide anything. Not only is flaunting themselves their thing, they use more and more outrageous behaviour to compete among themselves.
Liberals have a similar competition going on among themselves. Liberals compete to prove who loves stuff like diversity, equity and inclusion the most.
I enjoy your articles so much, I'm glad you liked mine.
