I love share time. I clean out my email boxes every morning and if my onetab is more than a screen long, I delete its entirety.

My number one tool, is a word doc that I keep open and use like a journal. When it hits 100 pages, I open a new one and give it a name. A few lines down the page, I put in thick red lines. Everything above the red lines is reference material only – including titles of articles, quotes, data, and links. This makes it easy to find information when writing.

I link directly from the word doc to the oracle (internet) and use find to scan my own word doc. To cement things in my mind, and make it easier to find, I use word tools including highlighting, text color, size, font, boxes, and clip art. Since it takes a bit of effort, these word docs form a self-sorting and self-regulating library. If it isn’t worth recording in my journal, I’m not tempted to keep a tab open.

My current word doc, named, The Day After, the Supreme Court goes Rogue” is 107 pages long. That means I started it on June 25 and its time to start a new one.

Oh yeah, I also compose comments on my note page as well (and use them as templates or starting points to expand on later).

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
