I am reminded of something a retiring photographer from National Geographic said. I don’t have the quote, and must rely on memory…

Stealing honest, productive work from people is a form of violence, that forces people to buy, sell and trade in human misery (crime, drugs, prostitution, bondage, protection, extortion, stealing, lying, kidnapping, rape etc.). Just as violence creates economies built on human misery, violence sustains them, generation after generation. Return honest, productive work to people, and the violence ends.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
