Having lived in a small, mountain California town for 35 years, I am painfully aware that the “Evangelical -Industry” is as sick, as it is destructive.
When faced by evangelicals growing wealth and power, traditional Christian churches remained silent. Unfortunately, silence is the dark and fertile ground where extremism takes root. The vines of extremism grew like weeds and began producing fruit.
Today, evangelical consumers point to mass shootings, corruption, the opioid crisis, mass-incarceration, the Big Lie, January 6th, floods, hurricanes, fires, hunger, fear, anger, rage, homelessness, struggling schools, closed hospitals and blatant racism and shout, hip-hip-hooray, the End Times have begun. They can’t wait to watch people like me being burned alive.
The only way I can think of to stop this madness, is to break the silence.
