Eugenicists' so called "scientific racism" theory was taught in American K-12 biology classrooms as late as the 1970s.

In my high school we studied the eugenics movement (and its fallacies), then again in college, then university history, civilisation etc. classes (1970s). Efforts to stamp out the racist theories was intense.

By the 1980s, the conservative movement was building momentum, Reagan was president and suddenly the eugenics movement disappeared from high school history textbooks, then college and university classes.

By the time my kids were in school, eugenics was never mentioned and the Holocaust was being taught through a white Christian lens.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
