Dang, you're a wonderful writer. Personally, I find it comforting to read something written by someone who truly knows rural life.

Like you, we're rounding ourselves up, taking stock and stocking up for the long haul as well. We are getting together more often and talking seriously about our future. I keep driving conversations towards answering the question, what do we want for ourselves, our family, our community, and our state?

To me, it feels like we finally got our heads out of national politics and came home.
