Children are born to learn. Learning is an innate drive. Learning keeps us alive. While bad schools and teachers can destroy a child’s willingness to learn academic material, they can’t kill their desire to learn. When schools fail, kids find another way to learn. Whether they watch tv, open Tok-tok, read books or learn on the streets –they are always learning. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to apply what you learn, when you must function in systems you know nothing about. And that is here education has failed the American people.

Over and over again, we are watching people struggle against systems they do not understand. They honestly believe a school board can make any decision they like. And that is a LIE. If that were true, this would be a communist, fascist country or a dictatorship. The fact that elected officials must abide by LAWS and RULES that govern their actions, is what makes us a Democracy.

How many people here have a functional understanding of say, how a school board works, city council, or board of supervisors? If you were elected tomorrow, would you KNOW how to do your job? Do you know the laws and rules that govern elected officials, the rules and process for getting something on the agenda, the legal requirements to inform the public of your work, actions and decisions? Do you know what your authority is, your duties, your responsibilities?

To do your job, you have to learn how a school system, a healthcare system, an economic system, a justice system, or a land-use system works. People like Marjorie Taylor Greene have no idea how Congress works, she thought she knew enough to make decisions for 340-million people without any training, study, work or reading.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
