By all accounts, including mine, I'm a ridiculous person. For some reason, that I can't remember anymore, I downloaded an emoji app on my cell phone. While I still can't figure out how to use my phone's video function, I've got this emoji, avatar thing down pat.

When I change my little emoji avatar's clothes, It reminds me of playing paper dolls when I was a kid. I love this silly thing. I type in a word and get a choice of little avatars to choose from. Picking the right avatar saves me a lot of words, which is a good thing, cause I still type on that tiny keyboard with my index finger.

By all accounts, recipients of my texts are delighted by my avatar habit. They say my avatar is soooo me. I have made mistakes. For example I was announcing our weekly dinner menu, and used an eggplant, only to hear later, that eggplant is some kind of symbol, that I would never use when corresponding with my children. Poor eggplant, its such a pretty vegetable, I can't imagine how it got itself into such an awkward position.

I hear emoji avatars are a boomer thing - and that makes sense to me - cause I had to use my fingers on the touchscreen to enlarge the page so I could see what those little emojis in your article looked like.

If I could use my avatar thing here I would.
