Bumpy, serious question. What if corporations were constitutionally outlawed?
The founders discussed doing just that, and settled on severe limitations and restrictions on corporations - which corporations went to work eliminating. No one talks about this slice of history very often and that's a shame, because colonists fought the Revolutionary War to get rid of corporations - and when the colonists won, they thought corporations were gone for good.
Its fair to say the founders betrayed the colonists. Inasmuch as most of the founders had acquired their personal wealth and land holdings through the corporate structure that ruled colonies, its no surprise.
