About a year ago, I suspended all belief. I needed some time to figure out who, what, when, where, why and how I acquired my beliefs. I needed some time to separate my beliefs from knowledge and experience. I needed some time to decide what beliefs I will keep or throw away. And, I needed some time to see how I feel without beliefs.

Without beliefs, I find reality much more pleasant and easier to navigate. Without beliefs, other people's beliefs don't worry, scare or trouble me anymore.

Without beliefs, I feel much, much, much better. I am lighthearted, more positive, clearer and focused. I am also kinder, gentler and more patient.

So far, I plan on keeping two beliefs. One, beliefs hide the truth and turn us into liars. Two, beliefs are burdens, not blessings.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
