A reminder is in order. For decades on end, RURAL voters have kept Mitch McConnell, Joe Manchin and Kevin McCarthy in office. Without rural voters, Krysten Sinema’s seat is fragile – at best. McConnell doesn’t need urban counties; he takes every rural county in Kentucky.

STOP and think for a moment. Have you ever heard a RURAL LIBERAL activist, leader, organizer or local official interviewed by a newspaper, tv reporter, or talking head? We are out here, so why haven’t you heard about us? I’ll tell you why.

Back in the 1990s, Clinton pushed the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) strategy and the Democrats pulled resources OUT of rural America and put all of it INTO suburban areas. Rural America hasn’t seen the National Democratic Party again.

The Republicans filled the void and started dragging rural America backwards - into the 1950s, the before civil rights days. The Republicans have been dragging us backwards for 30 years. We reached the 1960s and are just about to hit the 1950s.

Republicans don’t invest in rural regions, they exploit us – resource extraction, cheap labor, cheap land, corporate welfare and toxic waste dumps. Republicans built their sick and violent prison industry in our midst, then one by one, they filled them up and built another one down the road. Of course, Republicans are not into defunding the police. They depend on cities to fill rural prisons where “their” voters live. I kid you not, rural America is a colony. “COLONIA” is a federal designation common in rural communities.

Rural America is a frigging colony and instead of helping us, liberals talk about us – and to us – like we were the scum on the earth.

Rural America is my home. I serve diner, gourmet, seven course, and homecooked thoughts — but spare me chain food served on thoughtless trains of thought.
